This document includes numerous national statistics for the year and poverty trends from 1980 through the present. In some cases, it provides detailed information for individual provinces as well. It includes information about the average incomes of poor people and their main sources of income. It also provides information on four groups of special concern to the National Council of Welfare: the ẁorking poor, ' children, seniors, and women. It is an analysis of factual material collected by Statistics Canada.
