When Pearl meets the sorcerer responsible for those books that kept appearing on her tablet, she is immediately drawn to this magnetic sorcerer with deep blue eyes. Her mind tells her to fight against his controlling rules that force her to submit to him totally. But, her heart has other plans! Sometimes, it's best to follow your heart.

He laughed revealing small lines around his lips and eyes. She could tell he wasn't a young man but the feel of his body against hers was hard and in incredible shape. His eyes were a deep blue, so dark that they almost appeared black. His arms hugged her tighter to his body. "Droblin, I have waited to feel the spark of your life begin for a millennium. The last twenty-two years have felt like another thousand. Happy birthday, Pearl. I am very glad that you are here." He walked to an oversized chair carrying her in his arms with great care.

"How do you know it's my birthday?" Pearl gasped. "And a millennium is like a very long time. You'd be dust right now. Hey, you don't have to tote me around. Who are you?"

His deep laughter wrapped around her again. She didn't know why it felt like tiny sparklers against her skin. Without answering any of her questions, he sat in the chair holding her sideways on his lap. He just seemed content to stare at her. Finally, Pearl had enough. She waved her hand rudely in front of his face and struggled to sit up, so she could free herself.
"Put me down," she demanded.

"No," he responded in a tone that revealed a complete lack of compromise. "I have waited for you too long not to hold you. I will, however, try to answer your other questions if you settle down." He held her eyes until she nodded reluctantly.

"My name is Drake, Pearl. I am a Sorcerer of Bairn. You are my droblin or precious, destined one. At your conception, your life was linked to mine. Sorcerers of Bairn have only one fated mate. I have indeed been waiting for you for many years."
<
