As the yearbook of the Institute of Contemporary British History, this annual review will act both as an analysis of contemporary Britain, and as a record of events and developments. Building into a set of yearbooks, "Contemporary Britain" will become a useful tool for contemporary historians, researchers and librarians. The changing state of government, politics, the economy and society will be examined, and it will be introduced by a critical evaulation of current developments in recent British history and changes in the world in general. The review will contain 41 survey essays averaging 3,000 words each, covering different aspects of contemporary development. These essays will aim to both interpret and review relevant legislation, reports, initiatives, speeches and events of the past year.
