The purpose of the Institute is to increase knowledge and understanding of the issues relating to international peace and security from a Canadian perspective, with particular emphasis on arms control, disarmament, defence and conflict resolution. This paper reports on research, public programmes, information services, grants, awards and bursaries, and financial statements. Annexes include institute publications, public programmes joint projects and partnerships, major research project, responsive grants for public programmes, awards recipients, and institute staff as of 31 March, 1989.
