The content of the Index addresses a broad scope of international topics related to both practical and theoretical questions and offers insightful and sensitive examination of the important concerns and values of the public at large in over 150 countries worldwide, including non-Western nations. The volume provides a unique resource for social scientists who wish to explore a broad range of contemporary social and political issues such as crime and justice, energy, environment, international relations, marriage and family, and military affairs. Entries are listed by major topic categories, each of which is subdivided into more specific groups, and the editors have provided an alphabetical list of the countries surveyed. The questions and accompanying tables are presented by the date of the field interview.
