The exhibition 'Barceló before Barceló' presents a selection of the early, less well-known work of the Mallorcan Miquel Barceló. It is work produced between 1973 and the year of his definitive installation in the international context, when he participated in the Kassel Documenta in 1982. It comprises a total of over a hundred works, many of them unpublished, presenting some of the most significant, constant lines throughout the artist's career. They come from Barceló's personal collection and different public and private institutions in Spain and France, and from private collections. The exhibition has been divided into six sections: Bestiary, Vanitas, Experimental poetry, Books, Portraits and self-portraits and Landscape elements.
