It manages to concisely draw together key components, research perspectives, anecdotes, and further considerations that neither patronize the reader nor overwhelm them with trivial facts and details. I commend the authors for their work…The focus on Canadian content is excellent.” “I think this [Focus on Recent Education Research box] is excellent and would be a distinguishing feature of this text among the others that I have read!!!!!” --Lorenzo Cherubini, Brock University “Of all the introductory texts available, it provides the most comprehensive information on Canadian conditions in schooling and teaching, as well as being organized in a manner that offers the widest range of dimensions affecting the profession….I retire this year, but will recommend my successor continue to use this text.” --Campbell A.
