The Montreal Expos had never produced a season of.500 or better through their first 10 seasons but they finally did in 1979 with an exhilarating season. The Expos spent a lot of time in first place in the National League East but ended up short of the pennant, losing out at the end to the Pittsburgh Pirates, the eventual World Series champions. Montreal finished with a tremendous 95-65 record and author Norm King takes you through the highs and lows of a landmark campaign. His extraordinary research and eloquent writing makes for a very interesting read. Norm had most of his book finished before he died of cancer in 2018. Expos historian Danny Gallagher got a hold of the manuscript and decided to publish it to preserve Norm's legacy so that his book would not fade into oblivion.
