From the twelve seasons of excavations at the Jordanian site of Pella (1979-1990), 1106 coins have been recovered (coins from the post-1990 seasons will be published separately). This, the first of the final reports from Pella, discusses the Hellenistic, Jewish, Roman, Greek Imperial, Byzantine and Islamic coins from the site, along with a catalogue and concordances. Although the assemblage of coins is not representative of the coinage in circulation during these periods, or of the city's history, it does provide a broad outline of the political history of Pella.
