This publication details space activities of the Soviet Union during 1971. This publication a Staff Report prepared for a Senate committee by the Science Policy Research Division of the Congressional Research Service. It is a supplement to a previous report covering the period 1966 to 1970. It includes numerous tables that contain details of all the Soviet launches and space missions in 1971, including descriptions of the lunar sample return and Lunokhod missions. Soyuz 10, Soyuz 11, and the Salyut I disaster are also covered.
