Exhibition presented a historical overview of the classic French sailor navy costume and French fashion. The show, which assembled rare pieces from the collections of the Musee de la Marine and the naval command academy in Toulon, focused on 35 haute-couture outfits designed by French fashion designers such as Jeanne Lanvin, Jean Paul Gaultier, Chanel, Martin Margiela, Dior, Givenchy and Yves Saint Laurent, illustrating how the navy inspired and influenced fashion.
