This slender volume is directed toward hands-on research on various racial and ethnic groups, using contemporary and historical data. Each chapter provides a brief introduction to the topic and a research exercise. Chapters focus on slavery, early immigration patterns, contemporary immigration patterns, the role of women in society, Native Americas, the African American experience, Jewish Americans, Italian Americans, Asian Americans, and Hispanic and Latino groups.
