Author Description

The book accompanies an anthological exhibition of more than 50 pieces created in a 12-year period and illustrates the creative periods and rich diversity of the short but productive career of artist Beatriz Daza (b. Colombia 1928 - 1968), who took the ceramic creation process to its material and conceptual limits. The collection of collages, paintings, prints and ceramic vases, pots inspired in ancient mythologies include the ceramic piece "Crisol para Prometeo", won first prize in the XV Salón de Artistas Colombianos in 1963. With texts by Germán Rubiano, Marta Traba and Walter Engel.
