This book comprises the visions of various researchers of Mexican photography in an interest in analyzing a series of episodes after the year 1968 -as a result of a transoceanic project conceived between France and Mexico- and is based on a premise: to consider that photography plays a fundamental role in the elaboration of a different national history, by contributing to the construction of a look and a memory gestated from the visual stories about some of the key social, political and cultural events of the history of the last third of the 20th century. To this end, it develops reflections elaborated from France, Mexico, Brazil and Chile in order to expand the panorama of analysis.
