The departure point for his works are geometric abstraction and its multitudinous possibilities but also its traditions. For forty years now Klaus J. Schoen (b. 1931) has experimented with numerous variations of form and color. The current publication permits the first comprehensive insight into the artist's creative period of many years' standing and presents the complete cosmos of Schoen's painting by means of many different groups of works: the abundant diversity of artistic solutions based on a few simple fundamental elements.
