The Lolo Hotshots were formed in 1961 as one of the original hotshot fire crews. They filled a need for experienced fire suppression crews with the mobility and organizational capability to respond to wildfires where needed throughout the western regions of the US Forest Service. This book provides an in-depth look at two of the early years of this crew. The Lolo Hotshots continue to fulfill this dangerous mission to the present day.
