Using the original ballads of Robin Hood as a basis, THE LEGEND OF ROBIN HOOD: OUTLAW places the famous bowman in a world not unlike our own: one where ordinary people suffer under the tyranny of the wealthy, where "justice" is bought with gold, and where the working man is seen as nothing more than a beast of burden, whose purpose is to serve his masters. Into this cauldron of social injustice comes Robert of Loxley, recently returned from the Crusades. Deeply disturbed by the things he saw and experienced in the Holy Land, Rob has little time to get settled in Loxley Castle when the evil Sheriff of Nottingham treacherously murders Rob's father. Overwhelmed by the Sheriff's forces, Rob escapes into Sherwood Forest, well-known as the abode of ghosts and demons. However, instead of supernatural menaces, Rob finds a community of displaced peasants, barely surviving after being disposed by the Sheriff. Taking up with them in common cause, Rob becomes Robin Hood, a figure of hope and justice in an unjust world. But unbeknownst to Rob, an old foe, Sir Guy of Gisbourne, is also in Nottingham, seeking to settle an old score. With both the Sheriff and Sir Guy working against him, Rob will need all the skills he learned in the Holy Land to triumph, and bring true justice to the people of England.
