Consists of correspondence, speeches, press releases, memoranda, scrapbooks, and other personal papers and documents from Kellogg's years of public service as a U.S. senator from Minnesota (1917-1923), U.S. ambassador to Great Britain (1923-1925), Secretary of State in the cabinet of President Calvin Coolidge (1925-1929), and judge of the Permanent Court of International Justice (1930-1935).
