Author Description

When Rob has to bale out of his burning Spitfire in 1940, his life explodes. In flashback, we meet a kaleidoscope of characters: Kate, his beautiful WAAF girlfriend, searching for love; Colin, his best friend, searching for food and friendship; Billie, a night-club singer, searching for sex; and ten-year-old Charlie; the most disarming character of all, searching for a hero and a home. It is Charlie who forces Rob to face the fear that lurks within us all.
