Author Description

The title of this professional journey is a turnaround of the old saying: "He who pays the piper calls the tune." After so many years of serving the disparate needs of others, the clients, sometimes with patience and forebearance beyond the call of duty, it is now the Piper's turn to present his personal philosophy about architecture from a critical and creative perspective. This theme provides the canvas for a South African architect to philosophise about the shifting social, political, cultural paradigms and environmental changes in South Africa and globally from 1950 to the present day.
