He was frantically considering an air trip to the next port to catch us. This trial run was my first trip in a submarine and I cannot claim that it was too unusual. As we were constantly in the lower portion of the ship there was nothing to see and to inquire of our sensations would be like asking a sub way motorman about the weather.
