Author Description

The progression of sensor networks onto wearable platforms and implantable electronics promises radical changes in applications ranging from healthcare to human-computer interfaces. The International Workshop on Wearable and Implantable Body Sensor Networks (BSN) was launched in 2003 as an initiative to bring together diverse talent in the many fields that must unite to drive this vision forward. The papers contained in these proceedings, take the reader on a whirlwind tour through cutting-edge aspects of wearable and pervasive computing, biosensors and implantable systems, energy sources and RF protocols appropriate for on-and-in-body scenarios, body sensor platforms and systems, and various medical, clinical, and ubiquitous computing applications.
