Presents the photos & known details of many unidentified cars sent to Honest John by readers of his popular motoring advice column in a British paper. He rescues from anonymity as many as he can, & tells their stories -- from the humble & unassuming to quite extraordinary & ingenious creations. Here is an overview of the history of motoring from the earliest days, when a vehicle had to be preceded on foot by somebody displaying a red flag, right up to the present day. Cars identified range from a 1913 Austro-Daimler updated to appear post-war, a 1903 Vauxhall (one of only 40 manufactured), a honeymoon vehicle in Indonesia in 1928, & the first British car to win the Monte Carlo Rally.
