Daniel B. Turney was a maverick Methodist preacher, a prohibitionist, a woman suffragist who neglected his wife, was born in a log cabin, grew up in a governor's mansion and ran for the Presidency twice and lost. He traveled the country but was booted out of several churches in Illinois, Ohio, and West Virginia because he refused to abide by the dictates of the church.
