Surveys, year by year, the main topics treated in the Breslau pro-Zionist Jewish weekly, including the anxiety caused during the Weimar period by antisemitic violence, cemetery desecration, antisemitic bias in the courts, and agitation among university students for the numerus clausus and against Jewish faculty members, as well as by antisemitism worldwide. The newspaper combated these phenomena. Unlike much of the German Jewish community, it also condemned discrimination against East European Jewish immigrants. Traces the newspaper's coverage of anti-Jewish measures and incidents during the Nazi period (which were reported without comment because of censorship), Jewish self-help, communal organization, education, cultural activities, and the possibilities of emigration. On 30 April 1937 the "Jüdische Zeitung" was forced to close.
