The Lecture Guide and Student Notes is a set of lecture notes that can be employed by the instructor in the classroom/laboratory setting, and, if desired, presented to the students via transparencies made directly from the pages of this manual. The use of the guide by the students removes the time-consuming task of copying extensive notes during the instructor's presentation and, as a consequence, enables the student to more actively participate in the understanding of the mathematical concepts being discussed.
