Not illustrated. 1919 Excerpt:...Tobacco and nutf, manufactured in or imported into the United,axon States, and hereafter sold by the manufacturer or importer, or removed for consumption or sale, there shall be levied, collected, and paid, in lieu of the internal-revenue taxes now imposed thereon by law, a tax of 18 cents per pound, to be paid by the manufacturer or importer thereof. (b) Section 3362 of the Revised Statutes, as amended, is hereby amended to read as follows: "sec. 3362. All manufactured tobacco shall be Sec 3362 u. s. R. s. put up and prepared by the manufacturer for sale,,,neiM,ed or removal for sale or consumption, in packages of the following description and in no other manner: "All smoking tobacco, snuff, fine-cut chewing to-Tob»cco p««f» bacco, all cut and granulated tobacco, all shorts, the reu,alion, 0Tenun refuse of fine-cut chewing, which has passed through a riddle of thirty-six meshes to the square inch, and all refuse scraps, clippings, cuttings, and sweepings of tobacco, and all other kinds of tobacco not otherwise provided for, in packages containing oneeighth of an ounce, three-eighths of an ounce, and further packages with a difference between each package and the one next smaller of one-eighth of an ounce up to and including two ounces, and further packages with a difference between each package and the one next smaller of one-fourth of an ounce up to and including four ounces, and packages of five ounces, six ounces, seven ounces, eight ounces, ten ounces, twelve ounces, fourteen ounces, and sixteen ounces; Provided, That snuff may, at the option of the manufacturer, be put up in bladders and in jars containing not exceeding twenty pounds.
