Author Description

This book was inspired by the centenary of the Powelltown tramway, and by the recent discovery of original survey plans which contain unpublished information. The tramway was unique as it provides passenger services, and carried goods for the settlers along the Little Yarra valley. Opened in the latter half of 1913, the last train ran in July 1944, as logging roads had been upgraded sufficiently to carry sawn timber by road.
