This book aims to capture the atmosphere and history of the 61 grounds which have hosted over 1100 Test matches since the first Test was played at Melbourne in 1877. The text examines playing characteristics of the wicket and how these have altered over the years. Changes in topography of the ground itself, the new stands which have been erected and those which have been dismantled, are featured in words and pictures, including aerial views. Tables giving details of games played at each site are included.
