This book is the first guide to all trees, shrubs and flowering plants growing wild in the British Isles and in Europe from the Alps to the Arctic, including Iceland. Only grasses, sedges and rushes are omitted. The plants are in a systematic order, from trees to orchids and waterweeds.The paintings were all done specially for this book from fresh specimens. They are carefully reproduced and printed in colour.The keys are all illustrated in colour. The main key is designed specially for beginners. There are eight special keys to more difficult groups of plants within the text.
