The sequel to `King's Croft' and `King's Acre', this follows the Grant family as they move to Renfrewshire, especially their daughter Evie. She is secretly pregnant by her lover Davie Grainger,who is away fighting in the war. When he returns she finds that her love for him is severely tested. This is the third novel by the author in her series set in Aberdeenshire and Glasgow. The author also wrote the Rhanna series.
