Author Description

The book celebrates the 80th anniversary of Da Vinci Art Alliance, a grass-roots, members-operated organization founded in South Philadelphia in 1931, by a group of sixteen Italian immigrant artists and craftsmen. A series of 5 essays traces the history and direction of the organization from 1931-2011, and is followed by a section of artists' statements and art works by 70 current Da Vinci members.
