This is not a kitchen design book. It is about what a kitchen is - or should be. Traditionally, the kitchen was a place of feminine nurturing and sustenance, a place of safety in which culinary and psychological magic both took place. Sadly, nowadays we have lost balance in our homes. Many of us no longer have a hearth, a living fire. The heart of the home is all too often replaced by a status symbol of clinical modern design.
