First Course presents the theory, within a working vocabulary, in clear and easy stages. Each of the 21 units contains a shorthand word list, and short forms and phrases, followed by reading and writing practice with a key for quick reference as an aid to rapid reading and writing. A word count is given at the end of every sentence and continuous practice to help you calculate your reading and writing speeds.
