The *Política, políticas y sociedad* (Politics, Policies, and Society) collection brings together texts related to the themes of politics, social policy, economics, sociology, labor relations, and more. These topics are explored in the University's research, always connected to the development of our academic offerings, teaching, and community engagement. This book is the product of a collective research project that examines the work trajectories and experiences of women (and, to a lesser extent, men) from working-class backgrounds in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area. Using various quantitative and qualitative approaches, the chapters seek to characterize female labor participation, covering a diverse range of categories at the base of the occupational structure: domestic workers, cleaners, street sweepers, street vendors, hairdressers, and women with varied work histories who accessed retirement through pension moratoriums. Together, the issues associated with these categories reveal how the intersection of social class and gender shapes different dimensions of individuals' experiences in the world of work--the constraints, vulnerabilities, and discriminations that define the scope of possible opportunities, as well as the resistances, aspirations, mobility, and the construction of occupational and social identities.
