postscripts is a long-form suicide note without a recipient. It is written as an ending and as such any introduction to the matter is at odds with the nature of the format, as incarnations have never mattered so much as exits. There are a thousand songs in this and they go unheard, the author’s viaticum wasted, her words unread. Her anonymity is the only thing of value that survives this. Suicide is the ultimate decadence allowed to us; postscripts is a dead letter in every sense.
