The print collection of Nationalmuseum comprises more than 113,700 catalogued prints. This extensive material provides a background for the reader to study European art and print history trough some one-hundred works. The book outlines the development of print collection in Sweden in general, with a detailed history of the print coollection of Nationalmuseum. The focus of the book, however, is on the presentation of individual artists. In addition, the book includes a description of various techniques for graphic art, a dictionary of terms and overview of the development of collecting and the role of distributors.
