First printed in 1893, literally for Compositors and Readers at the University Press, Oxford, and first published (in its 15th edition) in 1904, this little book of Rules has become indispensable to all professionals, and widely useful to others concerned with the business of putting words into print -- which includes such matters as alternative spellings, punctuation, capitalization, italicization, abbreviations, and many other details. As this new edition is reset in a larger format, a complete review and, where necessary, revision of the contents has been made.
