The canyon wren, Catherpes mexicanus, is found in Canada only in extreme south central British Columbia. The maximum spring population is about 100 pairs. This report describes the wren's general biology, habitat, geographic distribution (world, Canada, British Columbia), population size and trends, protection under the law, factors limiting the expansion of its population, and the significance of the species.
