The purpose of a five-year silviculture plan in British Columbia is to identify where and when silvicultural activities are scheduled for an area over the next five-year period. Such plans must be consistent with higher-level plans and the forest development plan in place at the time of approval. Public involvement is also a key element in the planning process. This document describes the requirements for preparing a five-year silviculture plan and for public notification and referrals. The appendix contains a sample cover page and schedule for a five-year silvicultural plan as well as a list of treatment activities that can be carried out under the plan.
