A series of site-preparation trials was established, located in 4 areas, consisting of mechanical, herbicide, and fertilizer treatments. Field assessments of inverted humus mounds produced by the Sinkkila HMF scarifier, MOFL mounder, and Bracke mounders were used on the locations in northern British Columbia. Results for each machine and location were measured in September 1986 for mineral capping, height, length and width.
