Written in 1972, Richard Gibson analyzes African liberation movements across the continent at that time. He reports on their activities, and exposes their weaknesses caused by ideological differences, leadership disputes, tribal enmity, mutual suspicion between tribe beliefs and intellectuals, and the splits and rivalries that result.
