The Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP) is designed to prepare accurate data about the income and government program participation of people and households in the United States. The survey compiles data on taxes, assets and presence of government assisted programs. The SIPP data allows the government to evaluate the effectiveness of state, federal and local programs.
