Notebook by Gerardo Murillo. From 1907 to 1910 the famous painter and vulcanologist Dr. Atl (Gerardo Murillo, b. Mexico 1875 - 1964) lived on top of the Iztlaccihuatl and the Popocatépetl and made hundreds of notes and drawings of this experience. This volume presents some of those dispersed impressions, those with an exclusive literary character. "Joaquín Clausell, that well-known lawyer in the Foro and in the anti-porfirist political field, but much ignored in his facet as potent painter, initiated me in the rite of Mexican mountain climbing. In 1905 he guided me for the first time to the Iztatzihuatl, and since then I visited frequently this mountain and the Popocatépetl."--P. 8.
