The Act On It Shouting Out monologues can be used by drama teachers or non-specialists. The book contains five original mini-monologues and Top Tips for wraparound activities. Key Stage 3 and 4 Drama students can use the mini-monologues and other activities to prepare for NEA (non-examined assessment) components of KS4 Drama and Performing Arts qualification. The mini-monologues make great audition speeches too. They were created during creative conversations between Act On It and marginalised young people that took place during the Covid-19 lockdown. On the surface they take a light-hearted look at lockdown life, but they also express the lives and dreams of young people on the fringes of our society, "These really are very special". The writing of the monologues was funded my Farnham Maltings as part of the 'Making Theatre for Extraordinary Times' project. Buying this book supports Act On It's on-going pioneering work with disadvantaged groups.
