The advent of Christianity in Africa came with attitudes and some effort to deny what constituted an African. Almost every African practice was condemned. This attitude has even been introjected by many African Christians and ministers. The underlying principle of motivation in this volume is that only when the African is understood as a product of culture, can any ministry be effective and relevant. Hence, in this volume the author has tried to look at the African in his/her cultural milieu and has attempted ways of offering healing approaches that draw on some of the God-given resources. It is to be hoped that other Africans may take up where this study left off and present the African «living human document» as is. This is a complimentary volume to the author's first book Pastoral Care To The Sick In Africa. This «Story of Africa» has been long overdue. It is unfortunate that the world is deprived of the rich experiences of the human family which are enhanced as we discover our diversities and commonalities in the global village - the cosmos. It is to be hoped that this volume though written from an African perspective will nevertheless be helpful to all of God's people.
