A first-generation learner is a student whose parent(s)/legal guardian(s) have not completed a bachelor’s degree. This means that you are the first in your family to attend a college/university to attain a bachelor’s/post-graduate degree. Being first-generation is a very proud accomplishment. The ‘first generation learners’ face a multitude of academic, psychological, socio-economic and cultural challenges. This book has broader scope in acknowledging the problems of first generation students they face while pursuing education. This book enables the reader to look for solutions to the problems faced by first generation students.
