This report consists of a summary report on an evaluation of the cost effectiveness of alternative emission control technologies for sulphur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. The Phase 1 report sets out a 1985 emission inventory for SO2 and NOx by major point sources, industrial sectors, and area sources. The Phase 2 report identifies the costs and contaminant removal capabilities of alternative emission control technologies. The Phase 3 report outlines alternative cost effective abatement strategies and sets out the user-friendly modelling framework for changing the assumptions and allowing for technological changes.
