About The Music This book contains many of my favourite Hymns and Carols as well as a few folk songs and classical pieces. I started playing flute at the age of 12 and ever since have been playing all sorts of sacred and classical music on flute alone (no piano). I developed a particular way of playing each piece and over the years bit by bit I have written these arrangements down. Most of my flute arrangements are of well-known Hymns, especially the music of Easter and Christmas. In fact you will find in this book a lot of the hymns of Holy Week. These arrangements are simply my interpretation of these beautiful melodies. The music is at times difficult, fantasia and virtuosic in nature, while at other times it is filled with reflective melodies and long held notes. These arrangements sound shiny and exciting but are also intimate and emotionally engaging. I play this music everywhere. Great for concerts, recitals, festivals and church services. The difficulty level is Grade 8 – Diploma
