
The Skills@Work series provides a flexible and teachable approach to integrating critical entry-level workplace competencies into classroom and training situations. This modular curriculum uses a multimedia platform to engage users in realistic workplace experiences. Concepts and applications focus on the SCANS architecture. Information management is a critical skill in the fast-paced workplaces of the 21st century. Knowing how to gather, organize, and communicate information effectively can give you the edge. In Module 5, "Acquiring Information", the user will learn about: 1. Acquiring Information 2. Evaluating Information 3. Organizing and Managing Information 4. Intrepreting, Applying, and Communicating Information 5. Using Information Ethically and Legally 6. Using Computers to Acquire, Process, and Disseminate Information 7. Using the Internet All seven lessons will culminate in a field study, allowing the learner to apply his/her newly acquired skills to a real life experience.
